SENFER DT2 Plus
| 2x Balanced Armature | Dynamic Driver |
? SENFER DT2 Plus, a triple driver headphone with a friendly price.
The SENFER DT2 Plus is the 2nd version of the original SENFER DT2 (note the absence of the “Plus”) and was released before the flagship quad-driver SENFER EN900.
The SENFER DT2 Plus features an hybrid configuration of 2 balanced armatures and 1 dynamic driver. This triple driver configuration can also be found in other budget models such as the:
- KZ ZSR
- KZ ED16 / KZ ZS7
- Xiaomi Mi Noise Cancelling Earphones
/ Xiaomi 3.5 ANC Earphones / Xiaomi
- Xiaomi Mi Pro HD
/ Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD
- RevoNext RN-QT2
/ RevoNext QT2
- UiiSii BA-T8S
- SWING EC1
- TRN V60
- ACZ KR06-6
The housings of the SENFER DT2 Plus are spectacularly built with a mix of metal and ceramics construction – they share the same materials and robust build of the SENFER 4in1.
The earpieces have a unique design and form factor that is clearly “inspired” by the Sennheiser IE800 and Sennheiser IE800 S
but with a more premium and refined look and feel thanks to the materials used on the SENFER DT2 Plus – another “inspired” Asian-budget models are the SWING IE800 (even the name denotes the “inspiration”), Earmax ER800, JBMMJ S800
.
You can buy the SENFER DT2 Plus with or without the detachable cable. If you already own a MMCX cable you can save a bit of money by buying them without the cable.

A
Accessories & Packaging
The SENFER DT2 Plus unboxing results in 3 pair of silicone eartips, 1 pair of foam eartips, a cable clip and a hard carrying case. There is no official packaging nor accessories for the SENFER DT2 Plus, so this will completely depend on each seller.

B
Bass & Sub Bass
The SENFER DT2 Plus bass is energetic, punchy and deep enough with a full-bodied sound but can extend too much ahead adequate lower frequency ranges.
Applying an EQ, there is a bit punchier and deeper response but not a drastic difference from it’s original response.
During our extreme basshead tests, the SENFER DT2 Plus handled up to 30% of the maximum power coming from a FiiO amplifier (FiiO E12 Mont Blanc
, now replaced by the FiiO A5
) with a noticeable deepening of it’s sub-bass but did not reach any basshead rumble falling way below the basshead impact of the Pioneer SE-CX8
, Sony MDR-EX800ST
/ Sony MDR7550, Sony MDR-EX650, KZ ZST PRO
, Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro, TFZ Series 2, TRN V80, Plextone X50M, Monster Beats ibeats, KZ ZSR, KZ ZSA, Beats urBeats.
NOTE: The SENFER DT2 Plus are extremely sensitive to misplacement and sound variation according to fit and vent blocking. Unless you fit them as deep as possible, their vent holes will not get blocked and the sound will be much more shallow and less punchier.
Other earphones that showed an pronounced sound modification by it’s vent blocking are the: 1MORE Triple Driver Bluetooth Headphones, KZ ZS10.

M
Mids & Vocals
The SENFER DT2 Plus mids have a very unbalanced and off sounding style. Lower vocals are congested by the extended mid-bass bleed and sound distant but their higher mids offer a crisp & clear sound that are not excessively harsh.
With an EQ, there is a huge improvement of lower vocals, fixing their odd sounding vocals while higher mids can get crispier but harsher too.
NOTE: As we just mentioned in the “Bass & Sub Bass” section, if not positioned as deep as possible, your ears will not block the inner vent hole, this will not only affect their bass response, it also extends to their overall mids sound making them thin and cold.
5.75/10

H
Highs & Treble
The SENFER DT2 Plus highs have a very bright and fairly open sound with sufficient detail but are not the most detailed Senfer earphone in the DT liine, like the Senfer DT8.
Piercing highs are not extreme but sibilance is strong and recurrent.
An EQ makes their highs much brighter and with better detail but their sibilance will become excruciatingly strong.
7.5/10

SL
Sound Leak
The sound leaking out of the SENFER DT2 Plus is very low and barely hearable. You can safely dial up the volume of your music listening sessions without disturbing anybody.

Summary
- ✅ Outstanding ceramics + metal construction
✅ MMCX cables
✅ Triple driver with a budget price
✅ Punchy bass
✅ Bright highs
✅ Very comfortable fit
- ❌ Odd sounding vocals and mids
❌ Strong mid-bass bleed
❌ Sibilance
- We had high hopes for the SENFER DT2 Plus due to their construction quality, aesthetics, triple driver configuration and considering the performance of every
SENFER headphone that we reviewed in the past but, unfortunately, the SENFER DT2 Plus has a very unbalanced sound with odd sounding mids and strong mid-bass bleed that makes them a difficult model to recommend.
